Contrast Media Radiology- A Brief Note

Contrast materials, also referred as contrast agents or contrast media, are applied to enhance images of the internal body generated by x-rays, computed tomography or CT scan, magnetic resonance or MR imaging, and ultrasound. However, contrast materials empower the radiologist to differentiate normal from abnormal medical conditions.
Radiological contrast media or radioactive agent is an element applied to modify the contrast of assemblages or fluids within the human body for internal imaging.  It is regularly used to adjust the perceptibility of blood vessels and the gastrointestinal and intestinal passage in human body.Contrast media radiology is a dynamic and new concept, but has gained immense popularity over the years. These are basically iodine or barium agents and passed into human body by swallowing, injected by enema or injected into blood vessel. These contrast materials can be vaccinated into veins or arteries, within the disks or the fluid area of the spine and into other body voids.

The demand for contrast media manufacturers have amplified in recent times. There are various types of agents like liquid, powder, tablet and paste. All these materials are supplied to various medical units, hubs and hospitals by these manufacturers cum suppliers at whole sale competitive prices.
