In
surgical procedures the nurses wore a formal white uniform, surgeons
generally wore Surgical Apron.
To emphasize a new standard of cleanliness the first surgical scrubs
were white. Later on with time most of the hospitals switched to
green. They were worn primarily in a sterile environment.
Further
on replaced with newer and more stylish fashionable scrubs. Now there
are specifically designed aprons for different procedures and various
medical institutions. They give comfort, easy usage and reduced
fatigue. These surgical aprons are also used in medical labs.
Here
are two medications used in the medical labs:
Magnevist
is a medicinal product used for diagnosis of certain disorders of the
brain, blood vessels and spine. It is also used in paramagnetic
contrast medium in cranial, spinal and whole body magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI). In magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to allow blood
vessels, organs, and other non-bony tissues to be seen more clearly
on the MRI. Before receiving Magnevist one should always tell about
their prior health conditions and also if you have undergone any
surgeries as it might do some adverse effect on your health.
Ultravist
is an injectable medical contrast medium that contains iodine. It
shows a clear x-ray on the area of your body that your doctor wants
to investigate. X-rays, radio waves, can pass through objects and can
be focused to make a picture. Ultravist injection is contraindicated
for intrathecal use. It is used for patients in preparatory
dehydration i.e., prolonged fasting and is contraindicated in
pediatric patients because of risk of renal failure.
